Aitken, David D
lawyer, congressman, was born Sept. 5, 1854, in Genesee county, Mich. He started in life as a bookkeeper, then became a teacher, and in 1878 was admitted to the bar. In 1880 he organized the Venus Tent of the Knights of the Maccabees, of which order he was elected supreme commander in 1882, and supreme counselor and great commander in 1892. He is a successful lawyer of Flint, Mich., and served with distinction as a member of the fifty-third and fifty-fourth congresses.
