Wuchter, Astor Clinton
linguist, clergyman, poet, was born Feb. 4, 1856, in Jacksonville, Pa. He attended the Millersville State Normal school; studied three years in Paris; and attended the Lutheran Theological seminary of Philadelphia, Pa. He has been professor of languages in Paris, France; has been a successful instructor in music; and gained a national reputation as an eminent lutheran clergyman of Pennsylvania, and has filled pastorates in that state at Summit Hill, Weissport, and Gilbert. He is also the author of a number of meritorious poems which have appeared in current literature.
