Wilson, Henry
vice-president of the United States, was born Feb. 16, 1812, in Farrington, N. H. He was an energetic laborer in the antislavery cause, and for many years was a member of the national senate. In 1872 he was elected vicepresident of the United States. He was the author of History of Anti-Slavery Measures; and Rise and Fall of the Slave Power in America.
The name of his father was Colbath, but he was adopted by a man named Wilson, which name he retained. He died in the capitol at Washington, Nov. 22, 1875.
