Wilson, Benjamin Frank
educator, clergyman, college president, was born March 12, 1862, near Mayesville, S.
C. During 1880-84 he attended the Davidson college, North Carolina, and in 1885- 8. the Theological seminary of Princeton, N. J. For three years he was pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Spartansburg, S. C., and since 1890 has been president of the Converse college, the first undenominational private endowed college for women in the south. He has attained success in educational work, and has contributed extensively to current literature on that and kindred subjects.
