Williams, Elisha
clergyman, college president, was born Aug. 24, 1694, in Hatfield, Mass. He was ordained to the ministry in 1721, and served the church at Wethersfield till 1726, when he became president of Yale, holding office till 1739.
He died July 24, 1755, in Wethersfield, Conn.
WILLIAMS, ELIZABETH FINCK MINUSE, writer, poet, was born May 23, 1843, in Fort Avery, Ohio. For many years she was engaged in educational work, and is well known as a contributor of prose and verse to current literature. Her poems have appeared in the leading magazines and have been highly eulogized.
