author, was born in 1862 in Randolph, Mass. She is a novelist of Randolph, Mass. Her fiction deals almost entirely with phases of New England rural life. She is the author of A Humble Romance, and Other Stories; A New England Nun, and Other Stories; Young Lucretia, and Other Stories; The Pot of Gold, a collection of juvenile tales; Jane Field; Pembroke; Madelon; Giles Corey, Yeoman, a Play; Jerome, a Poor Man; The Adventures of Ann; Comfort Pease and her Gold Ring; and The Long Arm (with J. E. Chamberlin).
