Wickham, John Jervis

lawyer, jurist, was born May 14, 1844, in Ireland.

During the civil war he served as a military telegrapher. In 1884 he became judge of common pleas and is now a judge of the superior court of Pennsylvania.

WICKHAM, WILLIAMS CARTER, soldier, lawyer, state senator, was born Sept. 21, 1820, in Richmond, Va. At the beginning of the civil war he entered the confederate army as captain, and became colonel of the fourth Virginia regiment, rising to the rank of brigadier-general.

He was chosen to the Virginia state senate in 1882-83, and in the next election he was returned without opposition. He died July 23, 1888, in Richmond, Va.
