Wick, William W
soldier, lawyer, jurist, congressman, was born Feb. 23, 1796, in Canonsburg, Pa. In 1822 he was chosen president judge of the fifth judicial circuit of Indiana; and in 1825 became secretary of state. In 1829 he was attorney for the state in the fifth judicial circuit, from which office he retired in 1831; and was president judge for three years. In 1839 he was elected a representative in congress from Indiana; and was again in congress in 1845 and 1847.
In 1850 he was again chosen president judge. From 1853 to 1857 was postmaster at Indianapolis. He served in the militia of the state as brigadier-general, quartermaster, and adjutant-general. He died May 19, 1868, in Franklin county, Ind.
