Weldon, Lawrence
lawyer, jurist, state legislator, congressman, was born in 1829 in Muskingum county, Ohio. In 1860 he was elected a representative in the Illinois state legislature, and was also a presidential elector on the republican ticket. In 1861 he resigned his seat in the legislature to accept the appointment of United States attorney for the southern district of Illinois. He resigned in 1866, and in 1867 moved to Bloomington, Ill.
In 1883 he was appointed associate justice of the United States court of claims.
