Walden, Madison M
soldier, state senator, congressman, was born Oct. 6, 1836, in Adams county, Ohio. He served in the union army from 1861 to 1865 as captain of infantry and cavalry. He had charge of a newspaper at Centreville, Icwa; and was a member of the house of representatives of Iowa in 1866 and 1867. He was a member of the state senate in 1868 and 1869; and was lieutenantgovernor of Iowa in 1870. He was elected a representative from Iowa to the fortysecond congress as a republican.
