Sulzer, William
lawyer, legislator, congressman, was born March 18, 1863, in Elizabeth, N. J. He was educated in the public schools, studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1884, and is a wellknown lawyer of New York city. He was elected to the legislature in 1889, 1890, 1891, 1892, 1893 and 1894; in 1892 he was the leader of the majority of the assembly, and in 1893 he was speaker of the assembly. In 1894 he was the leader of the minority of the assembly. He was electted to the fifty-fourth and fifty-fifth congresses as a democrat. As a lawyer he has won considerable fame and reputation, and has been identified with some of the most important cases tried in New York city. He has introduced and passed some of the best laws for the people in recent years. し
