Stryker, William Scudder
soldier, banker, author, was born June 6, 1838, in Trenton, N. J. In the beginning of the civil war he assisted in organizing the fourteenth New Jersey volunteers. He was admitted to the bar in 1866, and for some time was president of the Trenton Banking company in New Jersey. He has published many monographs relating to the history of New Jersey, among these being The Reed Controversy: New Jersey Continental Line in the Virginia Campaign of 1781; New Jersey Continental Line in the Indian Campaign of 1779 (1885); and The New Jersey Volunteers in the Revolutionary War.
