Of these the best known are the Washington Series, five paintings representing Washington as a citizen, farmcitizen, farmer, soldier, statesman, and Christian . His Millennium is in the Academy of Design, of Design, New York. He died Sept. 17, 1885, in , 1885, in Brooklyn, N. Y.

clergyman, educator, author, was born in 1847 in Massachusetts. He was a presbyterian clergyman, and professor of systematic theology in Bangor Theological seminary in 1880-92. He was the author of The Evi- The Evidence of Christian Experience; Present Day Theology, with Biographical Sketch by G. L. Prentiss; and Life of Henry Henry Boynton Smith. He died in 1892 .

He was a Bapwas a Бaptist clergyman of Massachusetts, and proand professor of biblical interpretation at Newat Newton Theological seminary from 1868. He was the author of A Syllabus of Messianic Passages in the Old Testament; and Introduction to the Books of the Old Testaof the Old Testament. He died in 1893.
