Spring, Samuel
clergyman, author, was born March 10, 1746, in Northbridge, Mass. In 1775 he became a chaplain in the army. In 1799 he aided in founding the Massachusetts Missionary society, of which he was president. He published twenty-five miscellaneous discourses; and a number of controversial works. He died March 4, 1819, in Newburyport, Mass.
SPRINGER, CHARLES CHESLEY, educator, lawyer, state legislator, was born Nov. 4, 1852, in Livermore, Maine.
In 1879-80 he served as a member of the Maine house of representatives from the town of Yarmouth.
