Seymour, Origen Storrs

lawyer, jurist, state legislator, congressman, was born Feb. 9, 1804, in Litchfield, Conn.

He served in the Connecticut state legislature, and was speaker in 1850. He was a representative in congress from Connecticut from 1851 to 1855, and in the latter year was appointed judge of the superior court, holding the office until 1863. In 1870 he was appointed a judge of the supreme court of errors, and in 1873 was appointed chief justice of the same. died Aug. 12, 1881, in Litchfield, Conn.
