Russell, Charles Addison

soldier, merchant, state legislator, congressman, was born March 2, 1852, in Worcester, Mass. He received a public school and collegiate education, and in 1873 graduated from Yale college During 1881-82 he was aide - de - camp on Governor Bigelow's staff, with the rank of colonel. In 1883 he was a member of the general assembly of Connecticut; and in 1885-86 was secretary of state of Connecticut. He was elected to the fifty-first, fifty-second, fifty-third, fifty-fourth and fifty-fifth congresses. He is a successful woolen merchant of Killingly, Conn.
