Roelker, Bernard
lawyer, author, was born April 24, 1816, in Germany. In 1856 he removed to the city of New York, and entered the firm of Laur and Roelker.
He soon established a large practice among the Germans. He published Constitutions of France; Argument in Favor of the Constitutionality of the Legal-Tender Clause in the Act of Congress, Feb. 25, 1862; and Manual for the Use of Notaries Public and Bankers. He also translated from the Swedish The Magic Goblet, a novel, and made a German adaptation of Cushing's Manual of Parliamentary Practice. He died March 5, 1888, in New York city.
