Otjen, Theobold
lawyer, congressman, was born Oct. 27, 1851, in West China, Mich. He practiced law in Detroit during 1875-83, when he removed to Milwaukee, where he has since resided, engaged in the practice of law and in the real estate business.
He was elected member of the common council of the city of Milwaukee in 1887, and was reelected for three successive terms, serva ing seven years in all. He was a trustee of the Milwaukee public library from 1887 to 1891, and a trustee of the Milwaukee public museum from 1891 to 1894. He was elected to the fifty-fourth and re-elected to the fifty-fifth congress as a republican.
