LINDERMAN, HENRY RICHARD, financier, author, was born Dec. 26, 1825, in Lehman, Pa. He was the director of the United States mint at Philadelphia since 1873, whose annual report for 1877 is a powerful argument for the gold standard. He was the author of Money and Le-- gal Tender in the United States. He died Jan. 27, 1879, in Washington, D. C.
