Lee, Charles Stephen
soldier, farmer, merchant, legislator, was born Feb. 3, 1834, in Greensboro, Ga. He has filled numerous public offices of trust; was a member of the Alabama state legislature in 1872-73; and in 1896 was elected a state senator from the twenty-first district. During the war he served as second lieutenant of the first Alabama cavalry, and was afterward transferred to the sixth Alabama cavalry, and made captain of company A. He is a successful farmer and merchant of Brewton, Ala.; and although he was admitted to the bar, never practiced that profession to any extent.
