Ingham, Mary Bigelow

educator, author, was born March 10, 1832, in Mansfield, Ohio. She received her education at the Norwalk seminary, Ohio; the Baldwin institute of Berea, Ohio; and received the degree of Mistress of Liberal Arts from the Woman's college of Ohio. She has been corresponding secretary of the Cincinnati branch of the Woman's Foreign Missionary society; a leader in the woman's temperance crusade of 1874; and a founder of the National Woman's Christian Temperance union; and its first treasurer. She was a founder of the Cleveland school of art, and secretary for years of its board of trustees. She was president of the woman's department of the Cleveland centennial commission; and the author of Women of Cleveland and Their Work.

In early life she was engaged in educational work; and has always contributed extensively to newspapers and magazines.
