Hyde, Charles L
journalist, financier, was born June 23, 1861, in Pike county, Ill. At the age of eighteen years he was working as a farm hand or cow boy in Colorado.
From 1880 to 1886 he served as a commercial traveler or an eastern manufacturing house. He then engaged in mercantile business at Lima, Ohio, from whence he moved to South Dakota in 1888, and has since been engaged in the real estate business.
Mr. Hyde's financial career has been most successful, the results solely of his own perseverance, forethought and integrity.
He is the editor and owner of the Rustler, of Pierre, and influential in the public affairs of his city and state.
