Hinrichsen, William H

journalist, congressman, was born May 27, 1850, in Franklin, Ill. He was elected to the office of justice of the peace in 1871 and re-elected in 1873. He was appointed deputy sheriff of his county in 1874; and served three terms in that position; was elected sheriff in 1880; was elected clerk of the house of representatives of Illinois in 1891; and was elected secretary of state in 1892. He has served as a member of the democratic state committee since 1888, and was chairman of it in 1895. He was elected to the fifty-fifth congress as a democrat.
