Higginson, John
clergyman, author, was born Aug. 6, 1616, in England. He was a congregational clergyman of Salem, from 1659 till his death in charge of the church founded by his father, and widely popular in New England. He was the author of The Cause of God and His People in New England; and Attestation to Cotton Mather's Magnalia. He died Dec. 9, 1708, in Salem, Mass.

HIGGINSON, MRS. SARAH JANE [HATFIELD], author, was born in 1840 in Pennsylvania. She is a writer of New York city; and the author of A Princess of Java, a tale of the Far East; Java: the Pearl of the East; and The Bedouin Girl.
