Farr, Evarts W

soldier, lawyer, congressman, was born Oct. 10, 1840, in Littleton, N. H. He served throughout the war, rising to the rank of major. He was appointed assessor of internal revenue in 1870, and continued to serve until the office was abolished in 1873. He was prosecuting attorney for Grafton county in 1873 and 1876; and was a member of the executive council in 1876. He was elected a representative from New Hampshire to the forty-sixth congress. He died Nov. 30, 1880. a
