Dudley, Thomas
governor, born in 1576 in England. In 1630 he came to Massachusetts with the commission of deputy governor, which office he held from 1634 till 1640, and again from 1645 till 1650. He died July 31, 1652, in Roxbury, Mass.
DUDLEY, THOMAS UNDERWOOD, bishop, author, was born Sept. 26, 1837, in Richmond, Va. He is the second protestant episcopal bishop of Kentucky. He served in the confederate army as a colonel, and afterwards entered the ministry. He is the author of A Wise Discrimination the Church's Need; and A Sunday- School Question Book.
