Dudley, Mrs. Blandina

philan-- thropist, was born in 1783 in New York.

In 1856 she gave seventy-five thousand dollars toward the endowment and erection of Dudley observatory in Albany, in memory of her husband. At the time of her death she had given more than one hundred thousand dollars toward its completion. She died in January, 1863, in Albany, N. Y.

DUDLEY, CHARLES BENJAMIN, chemist, was born July 14, 1842, in Oxford, N. Y. In 1874 he became instructor of physics in the university of Pennsylvania, but resigned at the end of the year. He became chemist to the Pennsylvania Railroad company.
