Davey, Robert C

congressman, was born Oct. 22, 1853, in New Orleans, La. He was a member of the state senate in 1879, and re-elected in April, 1884, and again elected in 1892. He was president pro tempore of the senate during the sessions of 1884 and 1886. He was elected judge of the first recorder's court in 1880, re-elected in 1882, re-elected in April, 1884, and served until May, 1888. He was defeated for mayor of the city of New Orleans in 1888; and was elected to the fiftythird congress as a democrat. He also received the re-election to the fifty-fourth and fifty-fifth congresses.
