Darrow, Allen R

author, poet, was born April 20, 1826, in New London, Conn. He has contributed both prose and verse to various journals and magazines; and is the author of Iphigenia and Other Poems. He is engaged in business in Buffalo, N. Y.

D'ARUSMONT, MADAME FRANCES, reformer, author, was born in 1795, in Scotland. She was a very energetic and versatile Scottish reformer who came several times to America, and finally settled in Cincinnati. She was the author of Popular Lectures on Free Inquiry; Biographical Notes and Political Letters of Fanny Wright D'Arusmont (1844); Altorf: a tragedy; Views of Society and Manners in America; and A Few Days in Athens include her principal works. She died in 1852.
