Crocker, Alvah
manufacturer, state senator, congressman, was born Oct. 14, 1801, in Leominster, Mass. He became proprietor of a paper manufactory; was president of the Boston and Fitchburg railroad; and a commissioner of the Hoosac tunnel. He was a member of the state legislature in 1836, 1842, and 1843; was a member of the state senate two terms; and was elected to the fortysecond congress to fill a vacancy, and was re-elected to the forty-third congress as a republican. He died Dec. 26, 1874, in Fitchburg, Mass.
