Cherry, William John

lawyer, author, was born Jan. 25, 1859, in Chester county, South Carolina. He was educated in his native state at Newberry college; and in 1881 began educational work, subsequently adopting law as his profession. Since 1885 he has practiced law in Rock Hill, S. C., where ne has been city attorney for a number of years, and is the legal adviser and attorney for a number of large corporations; and is also very prominent in politics. He has given considerable time to newspaper work, and is the author of a work entitled A Hand- Book of Rock Hill.
