Casson, Henry
journalist, secretary of state, was born Dec. 13, 1843, in Brownsville, Pa. Since 1873 he has been a resident of Viroqua, Wis., where he was editor and proprietor of the Vernon County Censor during 1875-85. During 1885-89 he was private secretary to Governor Rusk; to Governor Hoard in 1889- 91; and to the secretary of agriculture in 1891-92. In 1894 he was elected secretary of state of Wisconsin; and takes an active part in the public affairs of his adopted state.
