Carpenter, Francis Wood

merchant, manufacturer, was born June 24, 1831, in Seekonk, Mass. He is president of the Congo and Carpenter company, and also the Rhode Island Perkins Horseshoe company. He is also president of the American National bank.

CARPENTER, GEORGE MOULTON, lawyer, jurist, was born April 22, 1844, in Portsmouth, R. I. He was appointed one of a board of commissioners to revise the laws of Rhode Island in 1882; was elected a justice of the supreme court of the state in 1885; and was appointed United States district judge for the district of Rhode Island.
