Almond, Marcus Blakey
author, was born Aug. 17, 1851, in Stanardsville, Va. For many years he was professor of ancient languages in the male high school of Louisville, Ky., and is now headmaster of the university school of that city. His famous poem, Estelle, is a beautiful story in verse of some fifty pages, and was published in a volume with other poems. His next work was Agricola, an Easter Idyl; and he is the author of several educational works of acknowledged excellence.
