Agen, James Herman
soldier, financier, legislator, was born April 29, 1847, in Montpelier, Vt. He was president of the West Superior Chamber of Commerce in 1890-91; represented his ward as alderman in 1893-94; was president of the Douglas County Agricultural society and also president of the Northwestern Wisconsin Fair association in 1895-96. He served two years and nine months in the First New York Dragoons; was in forty-two battles, serving under Gen. Phil. Sheridan; and was wounded in the battle of Winchester in 1864. He was elected to the Wisconsin state assembly in 1896.
